Type Profile

EIE In Depth

A fuller reading from the source profile, following the eight Model A positions and their Model L sub-variants.

Sentiment Model L element illustration

Position 1 — Base — Fe(N.) Sentiment

The EIE's fundamental mode of engaging with reality is through deeply felt emotion expressed outward as dramatic rhetoric and symbolic gesture — inner passion given voice in ways that incite others to feel and act accordingly. Fe(N.) is not the atmospheric sensory warmth of Fe(S.) in the ESE but emotion as a force of historical and collective significance — the EIE expresses what is felt not merely as personal experience but as something larger, a current that runs through events and people and demands to be named and amplified. The EIE does not generate comfortable shared atmosphere; they generate collective emotional intensity oriented toward a horizon. Sentiment is automatic and effortless — the EIE cannot help feeling the historical weight of the present moment and cannot help giving it voice with dramatic force.

Reverie Model L element illustration

Position 2 — Creative — Ni(F.) Reverie

In service of Sentiment, the EIE deploys their inner reflection on narrative significance — the felt sense of what events mean in the larger story, what is destined, what the current moment portends for what comes next. Ni(F.) is more quietly present than Fe(N.) but it gives the EIE's emotional expression its depth and temporal resonance — the passion is not merely immediate but historically grounded, oriented toward a future that the EIE already feels as a living reality. The Reverie serves the Sentiment: the EIE's emotional force is charged with the felt weight of what is at stake across time.

Observation Model L element illustration

Position 4 — Vulnerable — Si(T.) Observation

The EIE's point of greatest sensitivity. Si(T.) is the careful discriminating assessment of the actual physical condition of things — the precise sensory noticing of quality, the accurate registration of how things really are in the present material moment. This is the furthest territory from the EIE's naturally temporal, emotionally-charged, future-oriented register. Being expected to attend to the precise sensory condition of the immediate physical environment, to ground themselves in the concrete present detail of what is actually there, lands as a deeply uncomfortable constraint. Criticism of their sensory attentiveness or practical groundedness hits hard; excessive pressure toward precise present-focused physical observation produces stress and defensiveness.

Praxis Model L element illustration

Position 3 — Role — Te(S.) Praxis

The EIE's performance function — the practical operational logic and hands-on efficiency they are called upon to produce in certain contexts but find unnatural to sustain. Te(S.) sits uncomfortably against the EIE's dramatic, historically-charged, emotionally-passionate register. They can engage with practical operational demands when the situation requires it but the methodical hands-on mode is effortful and temporary. The felt significance of what is unfolding is what matters; the practical performance is something they produce when necessary and set down when possible.

Actuation Model L element illustration

Position 6 — Mobilising — Se(T.) Actuation

Energising and uplifting when present in others. Se(T.) — Actuation — is the decisive tactical deployment of physical force to control and shape the environment. The EIE cannot easily generate this themselves but responds with energy and animation when they encounter it — the physical authority and tactical decisiveness of others enlivening a type whose own force is emotional and temporal rather than physical and tactical. Together with the Suggestive it defines the EIE's interpersonal chemistry.

Habitus Model L element illustration

Position 5 — Suggestive — Ti(S.) Habitus

What the EIE most wants and responds to most positively in others. Ti(S.) — Habitus — is the tangible defining form of organised systems and codified behavioural structures — proper procedures, embodied hierarchies, the physical institutional form of how things should be conducted. Critically this is Ti(S.) — embodied concrete structure — not Ti(N.) abstract intellectual framework. The EIE does not yearn for conceptual logical architecture; they yearn for the tangible authority of a properly ordered world, the physical reality of structure held in place by someone who knows exactly how things should be done and does them that way without deviation. Their dual LSI leads with exactly this element: the LSI's natural Habitus is precisely what the EIE's Sentiment needs in order to have ground to stand on.

Soul Model L element illustration

Position 7 — Ignoring — Fi(N.) Soul

Capable but uninteresting. Fi(N.) — the deep inner landscape of abstract personal values — is something the EIE can access but finds less compelling than the outwardly directed collective passion of Fe(N.). Both are ethical functions but they operate at fundamentally different scales: Fe(N.) moves collective feeling toward a historical horizon; Fi(N.) inhabits a personal inner moral architecture. The EIE finds the collective register more compelling than the personal and deploys Fi(N.) only when Fe(N.) has genuine need of it.

Inspiration Model L element illustration

Position 8 — Demonstrative — Ne(F.) Inspiration

The EIE's strong background competence — the personally felt sense of creative possibility and spontaneous expressive impulse running automatically without the type fully registering it. Ne(F.) — Inspiration — operates quietly in the background giving the EIE a natural imaginative vividness that others may experience as creative flair before the EIE has consciously deployed it. The EIE often communicates with more inspired inventiveness than they intend simply because the background Inspiration is always running.

EIE character poster illustration

Overall Character

The EIE is the type most naturally oriented toward passionate emotional leadership as a historical force — the person who inhabits the felt significance of what is at stake, expresses it with dramatic conviction, and moves others through the sheer weight of what they make visible. At their best they are the person whose passion is genuinely compelling because it is genuinely felt and genuinely informed — not performance but revelation, the articulation of what is actually at stake in terms that make others feel it too.

Their Beta quadra membership means they value passion, certainty, destiny and the willingness to hold an uncompromising position in the face of opposition. The EIE is the Beta type most concerned with the felt meaning of what is happening — they bring the visionary and dramatically charged emotional dimension to a quadra otherwise characterised by force and structural precision. Their EJ temperament makes them continuously purposeful and outward-directed — the EIE does not wait for the right moment to express what must be expressed but moves immediately to articulate it, always finding something significant in every situation.

The EIE-LSI dual captures something essential about both types. The LSI provides the embodied structural reality — the disciplined order, the codified form, the physical institutional authority — that the EIE's passionate vision needs in order to be more than feeling. The EIE provides the felt meaning — the passion, the historical weight, the sense of what it all stands for — that the LSI's structural precision needs in order to be more than procedure. Each makes the other's contribution worth having.

Fe(N.) Sentiment Model L element illustration

Fe(N.) - Sentiment

Suggestive element

EIE's dual is LSI — The Inspector. EIE's Suggestive is Ti(S.) — Habitus: embodied structure, codified form, and the tangible order of systems. LSI leads with exactly this mode of structure.

LSI's Suggestive is Fe(N.) — Sentiment: symbolic emotion, conviction, rhetoric, and charged meaning. EIE leads with that mode effortlessly. The exchange gives EIE grounded form and gives LSI emotional voltage and direction.

Duality relation illustration for EIE and LSI

Duality · with LSI — The Inspector

EIE and LSI

The LSI figure is doing Ti(S.) — Habitus. The structure is in the body, enacted as trained physical procedure and codified behavioural discipline. Every movement of the demonstration is governed by deeply embedded habit rather than by sensory attention to any material or equipment. The procedural chart on the wall is not a reference being consulted — it is the codified form of what the body already knows and automatically performs. The workers behind and beside the LSI are conforming to a standard that is transmitted through physical demonstration rather than through articulated concept. The structure is correct because the body enacts it correctly. It has always been done this way because this is how it is done.

The EIE figure is doing Fe(N.) — Sentiment. Deeply felt inner passion is erupting outward through dramatic rhetoric and symbolic gesture, inciting the watching workers to feel the significance of what is being demonstrated. The conviction is genuine and internal — not performed atmosphere but a real inner fire expressed through the full force of rhetorical address. The EIE gives the LSI's embodied procedure its human meaning: this matters, this is what we are, this is worth doing with everything you have.

Identity · with EIE — The Orator

EIE and EIE

Two EIE types encounter in each other a rhetorical passion that amplifies. Every quality of inner conviction shaped into dramatic address by one is immediately recognised and matched by the other — the rhetorical charge builds in both directions, each inciting and being incited by the same quality of directed emotional conviction.

What doubles: Fe(N.) inner rhetorical passion, dramatic symbolic address, deeply felt conviction conveyed through gesture and charged language. Ni(F.) narrative vision — the temporal aspiration that fuels the rhetoric — also doubles. Two instances of the same dramatically passionate mode generating mutual incitement.

Mirror · with IEI — The Mystic

EIE and IEI

Same structural rule. EIE leads with Fe(N.) and creates with Ni(F.). IEI leads with Ni(F.) and creates with Fe(N.). Same two functions, same N./F. sub-variant, reversed priority.

EIE leads with Fe(N.) Sentiment and creates with Ni(F.) Reverie. The EIE draws on inner narrative vision in service of rhetorical emotional incitement — felt temporal significance as the fuel that gives dramatic address its depth and charge. The Ni(F.) supplies the vision; the Fe(N.) shapes it into incitement aimed at an audience. Narrative is the instrument. Rhetoric is the point.

Activity · with SLE — The Marshal

EIE and SLE

Same structural rule. SLE's Ego fills EIE's Super-Id with inverted priority; EIE's Ego fills SLE's Super-Id with inverted priority.

SLE leads with Se(T.) Actuation and creates with Ti(S.) Habitus. The EIE's Super-Id seeks Ti(S.) as Suggestive — what EIE most deeply wants — and Se(T.) as Activating. SLE's measured regulatory force energises the EIE, giving the rhetorical passion physical grounding and concrete authority; the embodied structural procedure that flows from SLE's governance is what the EIE most wants — it gives the emotional incitement structural legitimacy and physical weight.

Kindred relation illustration for EIE and ESE

Kindred · with ESE — The Host

EIE and ESE

The EIE and ESE are both doing Fe. Both are expressively attuned, both affect the emotional temperature of every room they enter, both are unmistakably feeling types who create atmosphere rather than simply responding to it. The Kindred recognition between them is immediate and strong — each knows what the other is doing in the feeling domain and recognises it as kin. The EIE's Fe operates through inner passion expressed rhetorically: deeply felt emotional conviction that erupts outward through dramatic gesture and symbolic language, inciting others to feel and act through the force of expressed inner fire. The ESE's Fe operates through somatic atmospheric presence: physiological mood conveyed through physical expressiveness, the vibe built body-to-body through aesthetic signals rather than through the rhetorical force of inner conviction. The EIE may find the ESE's approach insufficiently deep — too much warm vibe and not enough felt conviction. The ESE may find the EIE too intense, too dramatically rhetorical, not sufficiently warm and present in the moment. Together they can create extremely powerful atmospheres — EIE's passionate conviction amplified by ESE's physical warmth. The persistent difference is that one feels deeply and expresses dramatically, while the other expresses physically and atmospherically. Model A sees both as Fe-leading. Model L explains why EIE and ESE feel recognisably different to everyone they meet.

Semi-Duality relation illustration for EIE and LII

Semi-Duality · with LII — The Analyst

EIE and LII

In Model A, Semi-duality has a precise structural definition: each type's leading function provides the correct element for the other's Suggestive position — what each type most deeply seeks — but in the wrong sub-variant. The domain is right. The register is slightly off. You receive something genuinely related to what you most want from someone whose natural output is almost but not quite the form you most deeply need.

This distinguishes Semi-duality from every other relation type covered so far. Dual provides the right element in the right sub-variant as the partner's primary output. Activity provides the right element in the right sub-variant as the partner's secondary output. Semi-duality provides the right element in the wrong sub-variant as the partner's primary output. The domain arrives with full strength and genuine intention. The register arrives slightly displaced.

Business relation illustration for EIE and LIE

Business · with LIE — The Entrepreneur

EIE and LIE

The EIE and LIE can work together. Both are articulate. Both operate through language and abstract reasoning. Both are confident in their assessments and capable of complex verbal engagement. From the outside they look like they should complement each other — passionate conviction and strategic reasoning appearing to occupy compatible roles. This surface resemblance is what makes them Business/Lookalike in Model L. The shared N. sub-variant means both are operating in the abstract articulated register despite being on opposite sides of the Fe/Te divide.

The EIE figure is doing Fe(N.) — Sentiment. The inner passion is real and deeply felt — a genuine conviction expressed outward through dramatic rhetoric and symbolic gesture. The EIE is not creating somatic physical atmosphere. The feeling operates as inner fire carried through articulated language. The conviction should be persuasive. It is experienced as genuinely important and the force of its expression should settle the matter.

Illusionary relation illustration for EIE and ESI

Illusionary · with ESI — The Guardian

EIE and ESI

Same structural rule.

ESI leads with Fi(S.) Animus — visceral particular bonds and settled felt verdicts about specific persons and objects. In EIE's Model L stack, Fi(S.) sits at the A3 Ignoring position. EIE finds it uninteresting and unrewarding to engage directly.

Quasi-Identity relation illustration for EIE and IEE

Quasi-Identity · with IEE — The Inspirer

EIE and IEE

Same structural rule. EIE's Ne sits at position 8 — naturally used, present in background operation, not what EIE orients toward as primary. IEE's Fe sits at position 8 — equally natural, equally present, equally not oriented toward.

Both types are outward-broadcasting and expressively energised. Both share the N./F. sub-variant — inwardly sourced, personally charged, non-somatic, non-abstractly detached. Both generate felt output that moves into shared space and affects those around them. Both are Dynamic and extroverted. The surface resemblance is emotional-creative expressiveness, and it is sufficiently convincing that this pair generates persistent typing confusion.

Super-Ego · with LSE — The Director

EIE and LSE

Same structure. LSE's Te sits at EIE's Role position. EIE's Fe sits at LSE's Role position. Full strength on both sides, landing where the other strains most.

LSE leads with Te(S.) Praxis — embodied practical application. The LSE works through direct material engagement: testing techniques, comparing approaches, finding what works through hands-on experimentation. The output is concrete and actionable — a method that produces results, a workflow that functions, a technique refined by contact with physical reality.

Conflict relation illustration for EIE and SLI

Conflict · with SLI — The Craftsman

EIE and SLI

Same structural rule. EIE's base Fe(N.) sits exactly at SLI's D2 Vulnerable. SLI's base Si(T.) sits exactly at EIE's D2 Vulnerable.

EIE leads with Fe(N.) Sentiment — inner passion expressed through dramatic rhetorical address, deeply felt conviction conveyed through symbolic gesture aimed at inciting others to feel and act. In SLI's Model L stack, Fe(N.) sits at the Vulnerable position. SLI is genuinely inept with inner emotional rhetoric, treats it with careless indifference. When EIE's dramatic address fills the shared space — passion shaped into inciting symbolic form, the rhetorical charge impossible to ignore — SLI has no functional register to receive it. The emotional incitement does not translate into anything the SLI's sensory mode can attend to or ground.

Supervision: Supervisor relation illustration for EIE and ILI

Supervision: Supervisor · with ILI — The Critic

EIE and ILI

EIE leads with Fe(N.) Sentiment and creates with Ni(F.) Reverie. The Ni(F.) creative flows naturally as the narrative vision that fuels and gives temporal depth to EIE's rhetorical passion — felt inner aspiration in service of emotional incitement. The EIE is not trying to infuse ILI's strategic apprehension with narrative feeling. The narrative vision simply charges the rhetoric.

EIE and SEI

EIE leads with Fe(N.) Sentiment — 4d, 4p, inner rhetorical passion at maximum strength. Against SEI's Fe(S.) creative this lands on a 3d position. The EIE's dramatic passionate address genuinely adjusts SEI's collective atmosphere. But this is the lesser pressure.

EIE and SEE

EIE leads with Fe(N.) Sentiment — inner rhetorical passion as primary mode. The Ni(F.) The ILE is not trying to ground EIE's rhetoric in procedure. The structural clarity simply organises the concepts.

A Note on This Type

What Model L Adds

ESE vs EIE Model L distinction banner

Model A identifies EIE as Fe-leading with Ni Creative. Model-L specifies that this is Fe(N.) — Sentiment, the symbolic and rhetorically charged mode of emotion, supported by Ni(F.) — Reverie.

This distinction matters when separating EIE from ESE. Both lead with Fe in Model A terms, but EIE's Fe(N.) is dramatic, symbolic, and meaning-oriented. ESE's Fe(S.) creates immediate embodied atmosphere and sensory-emotional warmth.

For EIE, Model-L clarifies why emotion and destiny appear together: feeling is not only expressed, but staged around significance, timing, and consequence.

Attribution: Model-L is Kimani White's original framework. This interpretation is the author's own.

B Radial Group

Supported Same-Club Positions

B positions share the A capacity's rational or irrational club orientation. They are radial, foreground, and resistant: available as conscious support, but not as effortless as the central A cross.

Affect Model L element illustration

B1 — Correspondent

Fe(S.) — Affect

Derivation: radial + foreground + resistant · 3D / 2P

Conscious support that can correspond with the A region. It is capable enough to be useful, but it asks for deliberate handling rather than automatic expression.

Stimulation Model L element illustration

B2 — Collaborative

Si(F.) — Stimulation

Derivation: radial + foreground + resistant · 2D / 3P

A visible support position that collaborates with the type's central orientation. It receives attention and can help the profile work outwardly, but it is less dimensionally equipped than the A positions.

Animus Model L element illustration

B3 — Compensatory

Fi(S.) — Animus

Derivation: radial + foreground + resistant · 2D / 3P

A compensating support position. It helps cover less central areas of the cross while still requiring conscious effort and structural management.

Impetus Model L element illustration

B4 — Instrumental

Se(F.) — Impetus

Derivation: radial + foreground + resistant · 3D / 2P

A workable instrument. It can be applied when needed as practical support, without becoming the type's main orientation.

C Radial Group

Contrasting Opposite-Club Positions

C positions take the opposite club orientation from A. They are radial, background, and facile: indirect resources that complement the type's main cross from the contrasting axis.

Reason Model L element illustration

C1 — Subsidiary

Te(N.) — Reason

Derivation: radial + background + facile · 3D / 2P

Quiet background support from the contrasting club orientation. It works as a subsidiary resource rather than a leading concern.

Apprehension Model L element illustration

C2 — Negligent

Ni(T.) — Apprehension

Derivation: radial + background + facile · 2D / 3P

Indirect background material that may be psychologically noticeable but is easy to neglect. It colours the profile without becoming a central task.

Intellect Model L element illustration

C3 — Prompting

Ti(N.) — Intellect

Derivation: radial + background + facile · 2D / 3P

A prompting support position. It nudges the type toward material that complements the A capacity from the opposing axis.

Ideation Model L element illustration

C4 — Galvanizing

Ne(T.) — Ideation

Derivation: radial + background + facile · 3D / 2P

A galvanizing support position. It shapes output from the contrasting axis, adding momentum without becoming a direct Model A anchor.
